Preventative Maintenance Program
Through our years of experience with alternative fuel buses we have developed a very strict and detailed preventive maintenance schedule. These schedules, which exceed manufacturers' recommendations, have contributed to components performing beyond their expected life. The NEBR preventive maintenance programs ensure that all components are working together efficiently and according to specifications, so the asset can be cost effectively operated to its expected life cycle. As shown below NEBR goes above the industry standard in combining "A, B, C Programs" in one Preventative Maintenance Inspection. In doing so this allows all vehicle components to be inspected thus reducing down time and the need for future unscheduled inspections. These inspections are completed on a 300 hour or monthly (whichever occurs first) basis by a trained and well qualified technician who is well versed in every aspect of the vehicle. By keeping this vigorous PM schedule, the vehicles historically have shown a higher in service rate and perform to their highest efficiencies
Oil Analysis
Keeping mechanical components operating at optimal performance involves monitoring and analyzing lubricant oils for signs of contamination. chemical content and viscosity. Understanding how to interpret and evaluate changes to lubricant properties. increases reliability and the life of critical systems. The existence of debris and particles from wearing parts. erosion and contamination provide information about the issues affecting performance and reliability Lubricants are the life blood of mechanical systems. NEBR staff members make maintenance decisions based on the oil analysis results. The immediate benefits of in-service oil analysis include avoiding product confusion, contamination control. condition based maintenance. and failure analysis. Analyzing the data means you can schedule maintenance before a critical failure occurs. With these results NEBR has found higher equipment availability and productivity, lower maintenance costs. lower total cost of ownership. fewer outages. optimal equipment performance and a more eco-friendly operation.
